Heyyy party people!! (press play below and start reading!)
So long time not talk. like super long time. When I started this blog I expected to right a post at least 2 or 3 times a week, and I had every intention.. but then life… Life, man, you know? Specifically, post-grad life. That gut wrenching, walking on egg-shells, “I swear I’m suffering from adrenal fatigue” stress. Post-grad (for the purposes of the post, being the few months after graduation where you’re trying to figure out what comes next), for me anyways, was one of the one the most insane roller coaster rides of an experience.
I spent my January - April working at a teashop and a pharma company, being sure to never settle in too much, because I was convinced that Boston was not the place I wanted to be.. But come April, I was upset, frustrated, and ready to (at the very least) try to be a little bit happy where I was. I needed at least a little bit of comfort. And once I realized that my next move may not come to me as quickly or as easily as I thought, I allowed myself to settle in. I started volunteering with an amazing group of people at the Boston Hassle, became a curator at asongaday.co, and began going to shows, playing shows and writing my own music. I had the opportunity to work at Bonnaroo as an onsite Sponsorship coordinator. Boston, began to grow on me. All the charms and happiness I found in Boston when I first moved to Boston in Fall of 2011, found me again in the Winter/Spring of 2015. I finally decided that I was going to allow myself to be happy here. To settle in. I found a community, I found new friends, and even though, I never left Boston, I became exposed to a whole new part of Boston I had never seen before. I was so so so happy and excited for everything to come.
And then.. it happened. I got a job. An amazing job. in New York. and I couldn’t decline. I was upset, sad, “0% happy” about leaving, but I knew I had to.
And everything fell right into place.. I’m not sure if you’ve read the Secret, or even believe in it (not even sure if I do) But man, once I accepted, everything just fell into place. Found an amazing apartment, one of my best friends was able to help me move, and was even able to find a sublet worthy of the room I had called home for the past 3 years.
So whats going on now, HAH. Well, I’m working as a Junior Producer at Ralph and Co., a curator for asongaday.co, Marking Manager for the Boston Hassle, Keeping up this blog (as best as I can), and playing and writing music.
So that’s what’s up with me, I guess. What’s new with you?
