Blizzards

Living in Boston has got its ups-and-downs. Blizzards, for one, are both. Wind, snow, stranded, cabin fever. That stuff can suck. But sometimes an excuse to hang at home with some tea, netflix, a list of new music to check out, and a few household chores can be just what the doctor ordered.

I came across Refinery29's post of things to do to when stuck in a blizzard, and was inspired to share what I plan on doing while stuck inside:

My apartment's been itching for a good overhaul, and Penelope Green's NY Times article touting the wonders of Marie Kondo's decluttering technique really spoke to me. SO, for at least a couple of hours tomorrow, you can find me buried underneath a heap of clothing, conscientiously fondling my socks, feeling their energy, and kindly folding what "sparks joy" and placing them back in my drawers. I tend to not have whole days I can dedicate to overhauling everything at once, so I plan on dividing my wardrobe and splitting my deep-cleaning activities into 3 sessions.

Veggie Quinoa Fried Rice. Healthy, warm, delicious. This is my kinda comfort food, and constant go-to that almost never leaves my week-day meal rotation. Super easy and quick to make. The perfect weekday lunch or blizzard-stranded meal. (I opt for Cholula over Sriracha, and almost any other hot sauce, but do what you will.

Some recent musical (re)discoveries for me include Springtime Carnivore, Lady Lamb, Jamie T, and Roadkill Ghost Choir. Definitely check out Lady Lamb's new lyric video!

Between all of that, fiddling with my guitar, and reading a few interesting books. I should be set.

Stay warm.
